Belgium Sees Growth in Second-Hand High-Speed E-Bike Sales
According to industry association Traxio,the registration of second-hand high-speed e-bikes in Belgium grew by 17.4% in the
first nine months of 2024 compared to 2023,and by 39.3%compared to 2022.However,the overall sales volume dropped by 17.9%
compared to 2023.Of the 16,466 high-speed e-bikes registered,about 38%were second-hand,indicating that the second-hand market
is in its early growth phase.
Queensland,Australia Implements E-Bike Tax Rebate Policy
The Queensland government has invested$1 million to encourage more residents to use sustainable transportation.Through a
rebate policy,it offers a$500 subsidy for eligible e-bike buyers,and eligible electric scooters can receive a$200 subsidy.Within three
days of the policy launch,860 rebate applications were submitted.
Oregon,USA to Reform E-Bike Rules in Parks
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department(OPRD)recently announced that it has started officially drafting rules on where e-bikes
can be used in state parks and along the Oregon coast.The OPRD Rules Advisory Committee held a meeting on October 17 to discuss
these changes.The agenda included discussions on the impact of the proposed rules on visitor safety,recreational use,conflicts,operational
best practices,and accessibility.The committee will also discuss the potential economic and financial impacts of the proposed changes.

like California and New York.
New South Wales,Australia Plans to Legalize Electric Scooters
The New South Wales Parliament will release an“Electric Micro-Mobility Action Plan”aimed at legalizing and regulating micro-mobility
devices,including electric scooters.The plan will make e-bikes and electric scooters(including shared scooters)legal for commuters traveling
to and from train and subway stations.It also proposes investments in electric scooter infrastructure,creating shared roads and parking spaces
for riders,and emphasizes the need for police enforcement.
